CG 40 48 is ISO’s limited generative-AI exclusion, effective January 1, 2026. It removes coverage only under Coverage B — personal and advertising injury — for claims arising out of generative AI. Coverage A (bodily injury & property damage) is untouched by this form.
Coverage B is where defamation, disparagement, copyright infringement in your advertisement, and use of another’s advertising idea live. Those happen to be exactly the claims generative AI most often produces — AI-written marketing copy, AI-generated images in ads, AI social posts. CG 40 48 carves that risk out while leaving bodily-injury and property-damage coverage alone, which is why some carriers pick it over the full CG 40 47.
Same place as its bigger sibling: one new line in the forms schedule or endorsement listing. If you see CG 40 48 rather than CG 40 47, your carrier chose the narrow version — worth confirming in writing exactly which one you have.

Which exact form and edition is on my renewal — and can I have a copy of its text?
What in my operations does it apply to?
Can it be removed, narrowed, or bought back — and what would that cost?
