What it does

This is the full version of ISO’s three 2026 AI endorsements. When a carrier attaches it, claims connected to generative AI — a chatbot’s answer, AI-drafted content, AI-assisted work product — can fall outside the policy entirely, on both major coverage parts. Because “arising out of” is historically read broadly in insurance policies, the practical reach can be wider than owners expect.

“…arising out of the use of generative artificial intelligence”Scope language, applied to bodily injury, property damage, and personal & advertising injury

How to spot it

Look at the forms schedule (often titled “Forms and Endorsements” or listed on the declarations pages). The exclusion arrives as one new line — the renewal otherwise looks identical to last year.

An exclusion on a renewal is a negotiation point, not a verdict. Get your broker’s answers in writing:

1

Which exact form and edition is on my renewal — and can I have a copy of its text?

2

What in my operations does it apply to?

3

Can it be removed, narrowed, or bought back — and what would that cost?
